Chan Nguyen, MD
Co-founder, Medical Director, Provider
Dr. Nguyen enjoys two careers in medicine. As a practicing, board-certified musculoskeletal radiologist for over 20 years, he is an expert in diagnosing and performing procedures to treat musculoskeletal conditions. In the field of aesthetic medicine and wellness, Dr. Nguyen has received advanced training, certification, and preceptorship from some of the industry's best providers and institutions.
Among his credentials are advanced certification in neuromodulators and dermal fillers, PDO thread lifts, laser skin resurfacing, PRP procedures and IV wellness therapy. Dr. Nguyen is a certified provider of bioidentical hormone pellet therapy with Hormone Therapy Centers of America.
Dr. Nguyen received his bachelor's degree from the University of California, San Diego and his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Post-graduate, he fulfilled an internship in Internal Medicine at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh and residency and fellowship in Diagnostic Radiology/Musculoskeletal Radiology at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine.
Dr. Nguyen's patients love his gentle touch and comforting manner. His conservative approach, consistent results, and easy-going and approachable personality have built his loyal patient base.
Leica Gregor Nguyen, MBA, MHA
Co-Founder, Practice Administrator
Leica received her graduate degrees from the University of Pittsburgh and is a former hospital administrator, healthcare strategic planner, medical practice management consultant, and marketing/planning analyst. She has oversight for all administrative, legal, and business development aspects of Riva.
Leica's passion for the aesthetics industry and belief in the life-changing impact of internal balance on external vibrancy and quality of life have been the driving force behind our mission.
Riva is the culmination of Leica's long-time dream of establishing a lovely and welcoming space for enhancing beauty and well-being through wellness and natural aesthetic enhancements.
Laura Medina, LME
Master Esthetician/Medical Assistant
Laura is a licensed master esthetician and master esthetics instructor in Virginia. In addition to providing outstanding aesthetic services to our clients, she teaches aspiring estheticians at the esteemed Chrysm Institute of Aesthetics, the same school from which she graduated. Laura has been in the aesthetics industry for over 5 years. and has a diverse background in providing aesthetic services at spas and teaching.
Laura has a remarkable ability to deliver a relaxing and pampering experience while also providing the best in medical grade skincare. Laura is Riva's skincare and product expert and provides facials, chemical peels, BBL (IPL), laser hair removal, waxing, lash and brow services and other aesthetic treatments.
Torie Downs
Patient Coordinator/Medical Assistant/Ceritified
Body Contouring Specialist
Torie is a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania and is certified in various non-invasive body contouring procedures. With over 10 years in the aesthetics industry, Torie has the perfect background to wear many hats here at Riva. Not only is she our Body Contouring Specialist, but she is also a Medical Assistant to Dr. Nguyen and our Patient Coordinator.
A Pennsylvania native turned bay local, Torie loves Virginia Beach, the bay and spending time outdoors with family and friends.
Makenna Marchant, LME
Master Esthetician
Makenna is a graduate of the Chrysm Institute of Esthetics and is a licensed Master Esthetician in Virginia. She has been a provider of medical skincare treatments in medical spas for the last several years.
Makenna's areas of expertise include custom facials and skin treatments, chemical peels, microneedling, BBL (IPL), and laser hair removal. Her treatments are results-oriented, and having suffered with acneac skin, she is especially passionate about improving the lives of others who are battling with acne and acne scarring.
A Virginia Beach native, Makenna graduated from Indian Rivers High School in Chesapeake. She enjoys being close to family and friends and wouldn't want to live anywhere else!
